After Tomorrow
Toufic Beyhum, Carl Gough
2015, 53 min, french subtitles
For 200 years, members of the Bdoul, a Bedouin tribe, have bred livestock and farmed the land near the caves of Petra. In 1985, to attract more visitors to this very popular site, the Jordanian government moved them into sedentary dwellings on the outer edges of the area. For two months, Toufic Beyoum filmed the way their traditions have adapted to the phenomenon of tourism, which is central to globalisation.
